A quick discription of my trip to Paris:
10.45pm Depart Auckland
Sat by a cool guy called Colin - a journalist from Ireland.
Watched three crap movies: How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, Body of Lies, and Bee Movie. All really bad.
11 hours later landed at LAX.
2 hours later departed for London. Tried to sleep for this whole trip - not as simple as planned! After 24 hours landed at Heathrow Airport.
Heathrow was real cool! Great big video-billboards advertising: NOKIA Connecting People.
4 hours hanging at Heathrow. Loved the scale of the place!
Flight to Paris via British Airways. Full of French people. Only 45mins!
5.45pm Feb 1st arrive in France at Charles de Gaulle. Customs were super easy!
Bought a month transport pass and headed on the RER B into the city.
Weather is FREEZING! Zero degrees. Breezy.
Got a taxi to where I was supposed to be met by my accommodation owners. Nobody there.
After several phone calls and several metro trips finally found accommodation owner's house where I had a cup of tea and a chat, got my key, then headed to my place in Montmartre.
After an hour of mulling around trying to figure out where my apartment was (one man said "it's up a fucking big hill") I finally found it.
It's awesome! And because of a twist of fate I've got it all to myself!
After about 32 hours awake, it's time for bed. Bonne nuit!
Ummm, you failed to mention where you got that awesome t-shirt from my dear. But excellent start on the photographic evidence of you wearing it! Next up, I want a photo of you wearing it with the Eiffel Tower in the background. It may be freezing but wear a thermal underneath or take a swig of harden up juice and take the photo quickly! Oh and I also want a photo of you wearing it with Phillipe Gaulier next to you...
ReplyDeleteI agree - the tee shirt is excellent. It looks good. Guy - it's Karen from Reception. Great to read your blog and remember the horrid long flights which we did as well. Actually, we took the chunnel under the ocean when we went to Paris but it's a wonderful city - Nicolette and I loved being there. Have fun.
